Burmese: thwijh the youngest child, cf. also miʔ-thwijh mother's younger sister, step-mother, bhaʔ-thwijh father's younger brother, step-father.
Kachin: doi3 father's younger brother, (Mat.) šǝdoi3 younger (child); last born child in a family, mi-doi3 stepmother, mother's younger sister, wa-doi3 stepfather, father's younger brother.
Comments: Dimasa gidi younger (child), bidi father's younger brother, madi father's younger sister. Mat. 192. Cf. also Burm. ti 'descendant (in the 4th generation)' (?).

Chinese: *toŋ to hull grain with a pestle; beating stick for beating time in music.
Kachin: thum2 mortar.
Comments: Moshang thum. A number of other forms: OB ćhum mortar (for rice), Lush. sum a mortar (KC *sum), PK *cúm, *sùm, Tromowa tshom-, BG: Dimasa sām-, Garo -sam - seem to be ultimately borrowed from Chinese (cf. Proto-Min *cjoŋ, MC śöuŋ) or else represent a quite different root. Sh. 436. (?cf. PAN *esuŋ, *lesuŋ 'rice mortar'; ?? PFU *šumare 'mortar').
